The Hwb in Blaenavon is an area in Torfaen which has a variety of activities for young people to engage in. When UDOIT came to The Hwb, 92% of the females who regularly attend this youth club had never participated in Street Dance before.

After only 2 months of engagement sessions, these girls have performed Street Dance in two different awards evenings and have even given themselves a team name – DOMIN8!

They now train once a week with our UDOIT Deliverer (Lucy) and take it in turns each session to lead a warm up and cool down to build their confidence instructing/teaching and also knowledge of how to do an effective dance session!

Over the next few months, they will be completing their dance leaders level 1/2 qualification one person at a time to be able to lead their weekly dance sessions all by themselves!
